In 2022, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design,

MCAD, began engaging with students, staff, alumni,

and neighborhood around their plans to remodel to

remodel campus spaces as well as building new ones.

For this project, MCAD partnered with Juxtaposition

Art’s Tactical and Environmental Design Lab to create

an info zine & survey, collect responses, lead listening

sessions and engagement workshops. In addition to this,

we also worked with the school’s 3D students and wood

shop staff to create a to-scale model of the existing

campus. This model was placed in the school’s common

area where students and staff could add to it and

envision a new campus. This activity was inspired by

James Rojas’ “Place It” workshops.
